We\u2019ll then take some time to walk through the Arab Shuk, a winding market with a distinctly Arabian feel and characterful buzz. Our private tour will continue on to the Jewish Quarter, entering through the Zion Gate, which is riddled with bullet holes from the War of Independence in 1948. We\u2019ll discuss the important history of the gate, the site where Jewish residents were forced out by the Jordanians, and later where the IDF forces entered to reunite the Old City with West Jerusalem during the Six Day War. As our day draws to an end, we will visit one of the most important locations for Jews: the Western Wall. We\u2019ll discuss the significance of the site, including the stories of the Temple Mount. Depending on the interests of our group, we may choose to visit the Davidson Center (at own expense), which holds an extensive range of archaeological artifacts from the Second Temple to Early Islamic periods.\u00a0<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">After walking in the footsteps of former Jewish pilgrims and rabbis, we will emerge from the day with a comprehensive understanding of Jewish history and heritage in Jerusalem. We will have gained appreciation and insights into the waves of immigration in and out of the city, the stories of well-known Jewish figures, and current and past events in the holiest of cities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Then by car, we will reach<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Ancient Caves of Beit Guvrin<br \/><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The ancient inhabitants dug caves in the limestone rock not only to quarry the chalk but also to use the caves as water cisterns, storage space,, dovecotes, tombs and to keep live stock. Highlights of the national park include the Sidonian Burial Caves, where the leading families of the Beit Guvrin Sidonian, Edumite and Greek communities were buried.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">And then Latrun Tank Museum:\u00a0 the setting for Latrun is truly magnificent. Built by the British as a police fortress outpost that overlooks the surrounding terrain and controlling the main road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Tower of David Night Spectacular<br \/><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The walls of the Citadel serve as a stage for a nightime show which is a celebration of sight and sound.
