Troms\u00f8 that has been built from 1795 on the island of Troms\u00f8ya and its surrounding<\/strong>. The city has, also called
the Gateway to the Arctic<\/strong>, been throughout history the start for several Polar Expedition. Today it is the largest
Norwegian city above the Arctic Circle with a university and a vibrant life.<\/p>\n
museum was incorporated in Troms\u00f8 University in 1976. They have two research sections: Natural Sciences
and Cultural Sciences. Each section has large collections documenting more than a century of research in the
north. They have two teams catering for the public and for research outreach respectively.<\/p>\n
was dedicated on November 19, 1965. Architect Jan Inge Hovig succeeded in creating a masterpiece. The
cathedral is a landmark visible from the Troms\u00f8 Sound, the Troms\u00f8 Bridge<\/strong> and when landing in Troms\u00f8 by
aircraft. The 11 aluminium-coated concrete panels on each side of the roof provide the cathedral\u2019s form. The
main entrance on the western side is surrounded by a large glass fa\u00e7ade with a pronounced cross. The fantastic

The Cable Car is Troms\u00f8\u2019s most popular tourist destination. From the large outdoor terrace, you can enjoy the
spectacular panoramic view of Troms\u00f8 and the virtually endless sight of islands, fjords, mountains and the
open sea. If you look in the other direction, you will see the majestic mountain Tromsdalstinden, which towers
1,238 m above sea level.<\/p>\n

We will go for a dog sled trip on Kval\u00f8ya<\/strong>, one of Norway\u2019s largest islands. See great views of the mountains
surrounding Troms\u00f8 and towards the Bals<\/strong> – fjord and Malangen peninsula<\/strong>. With about one hour of dogsledding
you also get to meet 350 four legged friends up close and spend some time with the puppies.
After the ride you will be served a hearty meal of Bidos in the camp around the fire.
We will then go for a drive to the Lyngen Alps<\/strong> where you will be provided clothes and training before enjoing
an exciting 2,5 hours Snowmobile safari surrounded by the beautiful fjords and mountains of the Lyngen Alps.
This exhilarating snowmobile tour takes you from fjord to mountain starting on easy ground, then becoming
more varied, following a well-established trail. After you have explored on the snowmobile you will be served
a warm meal before heading back to Tromso.<\/p>\n

Your host will then drive you to Sami kamp where you will have an overnight stay. You will learn how the Sami
people have spend their nights for generations.
You will experience local dinner with other people before waiting for the northern light to appear. While you
wait the guides and huskies<\/strong> will entertain you until they hopefully appear if they do not you can enjoy the
Arctic atmosphere in the Aurora camp<\/strong>.
Your day ends in your private Sami camp where you will sleep on a reindeer skins inside sleeping bags.<\/p>\n
to sit in the sled or drive your own team of huskies where you will learn how to handle our own team of
huskies. The friendly barks of the huskies welcome you to the farm and once you depart from the farm on the
sledges the dogs quiet down and get to work. They love to run! For you it is time to enjoy the surrounding
nature and the sledge ride in silence.
After the dogsledding tour<\/strong> you will have lunch at the camp before you head back to Tromso.
The area around Troms\u00f8 offers a wide range of hiking possibilities by snowshoes. You will go with your guide
to a camp where you will be provided snowshoes and warm clothes if you need it. Your guide will choose with
you a suitable route and bring some warm drinks. The mountains offer possibilities for a great day outdoor, seeing the view over the Troms\u00f8 and Balsfjord<\/strong>. After the tour, you\u2019re welcome to relax by the fire in the camp<\/strong>.
