Set on 24 hectares of parkland, this upscale hotel occupies a 16th-century chateau and an annex. It’s 10 km from 15th-century Château d’Amboise, and 11 km from Clos Lucé, a former home of Leonardo da Vinci.

Featuring plush decor and carved-wood furnishings, the ornate rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minibars, plus marble en suite bathrooms. Upgraded rooms add living space, sitting areas and/or fireplaces. Annex rooms come with air-conditioning

Chateau de Marcay

4-star hotel – Marcay

Set in the Parc naturel régional Loire-Anjou-Touraine, this genteel hotel occupies a 15th-century castle featuring dual turrets. It’s within 8.8 km of the river Vienne, the town center of Chinon, and the medieval Forteresse Royale de Chinon.
